Volunteer Opportunities at the Christian Life Center 

Kroger / Walmart / Dollar General Distribution:
This entails picking up food at certain times during the week. This position requires lifting and food boxes can weigh up to and over 40 pounds. New volunteers will be trained by staff on each area where food needs to be picked up. 

Front Desk:
The front desk shifts are 9:00 am to 12:00 pm or 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm. The front desk person must be trustworthy and pleasant to customers. They are the face of the CLC and are responsible for all sales transactions, informing customers of special sales, and documenting transactions.

Sorting Room:

The shifts for sorting are 9:00 am to 12:00 pm or 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm. This job is to keep the thrift store looking neat and the items on the shelves/racks straight and orderly.

Food Pantry:
Shifts for the food pantry volunteers are 9:00 am to 12:00 pm or 12:00 pm to 3:30 pm. Food room workers are also responsible for putting food on the shelves or in the refrigerator and re-stocking food; making the food parcels that go to our customers; helping with large amounts of food that comes in from various sources. This position requires lifting up to and over to 40 pounds. They may be asked to assist customers with taking their food parcels to their car. Volunteers will receive one-on-one training for this position.
